A Beautiful Embroidery Journey

This beautifully presented book is an inspiring addition for any crafter, even those who don’t usually reach for embroidery projects. Just flipping through its pages invites you to sit down with a cup of coffee and read from cover to cover.

A Warm, Nostalgic Design

The sepia tones of the pages give this book a vintage charm, bringing warmth and a sense of nostalgia. It feels reminiscent of books I once read with my mother and grandparents, creating an instant sense of comfort and familiarity.

Inspiring Non-Embroidery Crafters

Embroidery may not be my first choice of craft, but this book has genuinely inspired me to begin an embroidery project of my own. Its approach is inviting, and I’m now looking forward to exploring embroidery in new ways.

Seasonal Chapters and Floral Themes

Each chapter champions a different flower, arranged by season. This layout adds a lovely rhythm to the book, allowing readers to align their projects with the changing year. It’s a wonderful touch that makes the book feel organised yet inspired by nature’s flow.

Embroidery History and Vintage Charm

A brief but intriguing history of embroidery opens the book, featuring images of vintage transfers that immediately reminded me of my Nanna’s needlework box. This historical context adds depth, linking traditional embroidery roots to modern creativity.

Practical Touches for Crafters

The fold-out front page is a thoughtful addition—it can be torn off and kept as a reference, making it easy to consult as you work. This practical feature shows the care that went into designing the book, making it not only beautiful but user-friendly.

Perfect for Travel Crafting

As someone who enjoys weekends away in a campervan, I appreciate that embroidery is a compact, portable craft. This book will certainly be a favourite for those peaceful travel moments when I can unwind and embroider while enjoying new scenery.

Standout Project: The “Log Cabin” Patchwork Quilt

One of my favourite projects in the book is the “Log Cabin” patchwork quilt, with embroidered squares representing each season. This unique and visually captivating project is high on my list to try, and I love how the book encourages adding personal, stitched details to everyday items.

Handy, Full-Size Transfers

The back of the book includes full-size, mirrored transfers for each chapter. Tilly has thoughtfully designed a storage pocket for these, as each transfer can be used multiple times. This detail simplifies the creative process and makes it easy to get started on a project.

Easy-to-Use Transfers

I tried one of the transfers myself and found it just as easy as the book describes. The quality and ease of use are a testament to Tilly’s commitment to crafting ease and accessibility for all skill levels.

Excellent Value and a Long-Lasting Addition

At £14.99, this book is wonderfully priced for the quality and inspiration it offers. It’s more than a craft book; it’s a beautiful, practical resource that will be well-loved and well-used in any craft library.
