Terms & Conditions
Bears are sold as keepsakes and collectibles, so they can be handed down through the generations to enjoy as a family heirloom. They must be kept out of reach of young children (under 14 years old) as some of the small parts may become loose over time and could become choking hazards. The bears are not CE safety certificated to be legally sold as toys. However, we do use safety eyes and non-flammable toy stuffing.
Family Heirlooms
Customers can pay for their bear through the shop, by credit or debit card, Bacs transfer, or cash on delivery of their family comfort. With larger orders, arrangements can be made to pay in 3 monthly installments. All bears remain the property of Family Comforts until paid in full.
How to Pay
All bears are completely unique and will not look the same, as it depends on the type of fabric provided. We cannot guarantee that your keepsake will be identical to the photographs on the website or social media platforms.
If you need to return your bear within 7 days, please contact us as soon as possible. A full refund will be given, unless the bear has been personalised, for any faults or mistakes on our part.
Returns
All bears are made from your used and washed items of clothing. As the fabric is used and delicate, we recommend that all keepsakes created by Family Comforts are handled with care.
Safety
When an order is taken we require a £10 deposit per item to secure your diary slot with us. This is a non-refundable deposit. You do however have the right to cancel your order up until the time we start to cut your material out and no further charges will be made. If you still wish to cancel your order, then please email us as soon as possible.
Cancellations
Please ensure the fabric is clean and in a suitable condition. Any uncut items that have not been used will be returned along with your finished keepsakes. If you would like the scraps of fabric returned, please mention this when placing your order; otherwise, these will be sent to be recycled.
Your Fabric
Unfortunately, we are unable to guarantee the specific date for returning your bear to you (Christening, birthday, wedding, etc.). However, if you have a date in mind, then please discuss this with us during your design consultation, and we will try to accommodate you.
We recommend when you send your clothing to us, you use a tracked and signed-for service as the contents are irreplaceable. Please ensure you include in the parcel your name, current address, contact number, and any specific details of the order and the details of the return shipping.
Family Comforts are unable to accept any responsibility for your items once dispatched and do not take any responsibility for goods in transit.

Sustainability Statement
Effective Date: 11th April 2024
At Family-Comforts, we are committed to contributing positively to the environment and our community by embracing sustainable practices in every aspect of our operations. Our approach to sustainability is rooted in a deep respect for our planet and the legacy we leave for future generations.
We take pride in our core practice of recycling and repurposing clothing, which stands at the heart of our business model. By transforming pre-loved fabrics and garments into beautiful, new creations, we not only give a second life to materials that might otherwise end up in landfill but also reduce the environmental impact associated with the production of new materials. Each memory bear, cushion, and custom piece we craft is a testament to the possibilities of sustainable creativity.
Recycling and Repurposing
Our commitment extends beyond recycling. We are mindful of our production processes, ensuring that they are as environmentally friendly as possible. We use eco-friendly materials wherever feasible and strive to minimise waste in our crafting processes. Our local sourcing policy supports local businesses and reduces our carbon footprint, fostering a more sustainable community economy.
Mindful Manufacturing
In our workshop and retail spaces, energy efficiency is a priority. We employ energy-saving practices, from using energy-efficient lighting and appliances to ensuring that heating and cooling are managed responsibly. Our goal is to reduce our energy consumption and mitigate our impact on the environment.
Energy Efficiency
We believe that sustainability is a shared responsibility. Therefore, we are dedicated to educating our customers and the community about the benefits of recycling and repurposing. Through workshops, community events, and our online platforms, we aim to spread awareness and inspire others to make more sustainable choices.
Education and Engagement
Sustainability is an evolving target, and we are committed to continuous improvement. We regularly review our practices, listen to feedback from our customers and community, and adapt to new technologies and ideas that can help us become more sustainable.
At Family-Comforts, we are dedicated to doing our part to ensure a sustainable future. We invite our customers and partners to join us in this vital effort, supporting a lifestyle that respects and nurtures the environment.
