Sewing Street Update
What's On in May & June
Sewing Street – April 28th Show
Get ready for a packed show on April 28th, where I’ll be teaming up with the wonderful Juey Jumbo! Juey will be demonstrating how to knit a beautiful pouffe using her famous Jumbo Needles – it’s a perfect project for using up your leftover yarn scraps. I’ll then be jumping in to show you how to line it, making sure all those pesky bean bag beans stay in place!
We’ll also be launching our brand new Handy Guide No. 5 – A Handy Guide to Zips and Fasteners. Alongside the guide, we’ll have a fabulous selection of zips and fasteners for you to explore live on the show.
As if that’s not enough, I’ll also be sharing a few demos from the brilliant book Use & Ornament by Nicholas Ball – a must-see if you’re a fan of improv quilting!
We’ll be back on May 21st with a brand new quilt launch – keep an eye out for more details in our May newsletter.

Crafting Comforts
Edition 5 -
Sunshine or Showers?
Hello my lovelies
April is always a time of fresh starts and soft reflections—and this month’s newsletter is blooming with all the things that make Family Comforts feel like home. From the heartfelt magic of memory sewing to a fun and nostalgic Easter recipe (complete with a bear in a chef’s hat!), we’re celebrating all the joy and meaning that comes with the season.
We’ve got a fabulous Spring Shopper offer, a peek behind the scenes at our next Sewing Street appearances, and I’m so excited to introduce you to J&B Sewing in Newport - a brilliant local shop that’s become a huge part of my sewing journey. Plus, we would like to remind you about our survey still ongoing, and why not listen to this month’s hand-picked Sewing Room Playlist to keep the creativity flowing (it's certainly been keeping me dancing along as I've been creating).
Music & Chocolate
I've been cooking up a storm in the kitchen for friends and family this month rather than reading so I thought I'd share a firm favourite now the mini eggs are everywhere!

Looking for a thoughtful twist on the traditional Easter treat? An E-gift card is the perfect alternative to chocolate eggs for the craft-lover in your life. Bursting with creative potential, it lets them choose exactly what they need for their next project — from patterns to keepsakes. Better still, it can be ordered right up to the last minute and delivered straight to an inbox of your choice. No wrapping, no melting, just pure crafty joy!
Dont forget to pop the kettle on, unwrap a little chocolate, and settle in for a lovely read. I’m so grateful you’re here.
With love and stitches,
Sandi
